A beautiful view of Wawel Castle with cherry blossoms in Kraków, Poland.

Poland!

Perhaps the country I least expected to spend significant in this year—Poland! After another 7hrs on the train, we’re here in Kraków.

To this point, we haven’t done much. Hopped off the train. Went to the grocery store. Bought pesto, pasta, eggs, spinach, and yoghurt. Very classic lineup. Had major indecision about whether to walk or catch public transport to our accommodation. Tried the former, and settled for the latter. Arrived and cooked said pesto pasta. Got ready for bed.

Certain not an experience unique to Poland. I am however, excited to explore the city in the coming days. There’s plenty here. History of considerable depths, and of many varieties. A place for solemn moments, and great times, all within one day. Stories of imperialism, communism, and democracy. Of losing national identity and finding it once more. Excellent food. Cheap prices. Hopefully, a detour very much worth taking.
