Passing Time Accelerates

It always seems like you have a lot of time. Until, suddenly, you don’t anymore. The true gravity of a moment, a reaction felt physically, only sinks in when it nears its conclusion. As you understand the occasion, you reach out to grasp fragments of it and hold them tight. You wish to capture an ordinary moment and encase it in amber. But time shrinks. It accelerates away from you, just as you catch up. As you begin trying to savour every individual morsel, the flavour dissipates in your mouth. You can never quite recreate and capture what you once experienced in its full form. The moment has passed. The future always becomes the present, even when we don’t want it to. Yearning to push the future away from us only seems to bring it closer.
