Scottish Golf Tour!

Mixed bag of a day. Left early from Portobello beach after two lovely nights. Wished Mary goodbye for the next week and a half. But also, saw my Dad! Played golf!

But that would be a reductive summary of the event. We’re embarking on a golf tour of Scotland’s East Coast. From Edinburgh to Aberdeen. Nonstop for a week. Schemed up by my Dad and a few of his mates, I just have the privilege of tagging along.

Today, it was brilliant. We played Royal Burgess in fantastic conditions. Sun. Mild temperatures. Nothing but green grass and early-autumn trees. Some deer, too. That was quite cool. I actually played decently as well. Not well from an objective sense, but more so relative to expectations. I had some fears that my golfing incompetence after a year away might derail the trip. Apparently not so!

It will be a nice challenge to still try and get this posts in each day. Perhaps on the drives to and from these beautiful courses. Certainly a left-turn compared to my travels so far, but an amazing one in some respects.

Also, the Lions play tomorrow. Got to find a pub open at 10am to watch that. Everything already feels so much closer to home. It’s going by in a blur.
