Checking in From The Camino
Revisited from August 16th
Recently, I’ve been doing some interesting things. Walking. Lots of it. Soaking up the Spanish sun. Siestas. It’s been brilliant. Disconnecting through it all, and particularly whilst we’ve been on this camino—specifically, the Portuguese Coastal route of the Camino, the famed pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela—has been extremely fulfilling.
The simplicity of waking up at sunrise, in unison with the dozens of other pilgrims in the albergue around you, and setting off for 20-odd kilometres in quaint villages, through magical trails, and under grapevines, feels like as pure of a way to spend your morning as possible.
It’s been great. I’ll come back and write about it more extensively in future. We’re dual pilgrims now! Within the same year, too. That doesn’t have all that much meaning for me, but it is a fun statistical anomaly, I’m sure.
For now, simply a check-in. Alive and well. Very well. More activity to return here soon.
