What am I Doing Now?
Updated 15th December, 2025
This page is a snapshot of my attention, priorities, and thinking at present. It is designed to be less about outcomes and more about an underlying direction. It will change significantly, and often. For a catalogue of past journeys, read this. For a page dedicated to future adventures, click here.
Learning to Communicate More Effectively
Communication permeates every aspect of life and is an ever-valuable life skill. I’m driven to see what doors open up on the limits of my communication ability.
I’m investing in languages to prioritise deeper immersion in people and culture—starting with Japanese.
I’ve disconnected from news and social media to prioritise creation over consumption and allow myself space to form opinions and ideas organically.
I’m building a consistent writing habit to nurture creativity, practise concisely conveying ideas, and ask better questions of myself.
I’m also trying to bring listening, depth, and authentic presence to every conversation.
Deferring my Medical Degree
About two months ago I completed my three-year Bachelor of Medical Science degree. Yes, I graduated, but without much fanfare; there’s still a long road ahead. I was slated to move into the MD program next year and study for another four years. It involves a switch of university, degree, and location to some extent. It marks a natural juncture in the medical pathway but, understandably, most just carry on. I chose to defer and now I’m here, looking at a year ahead with a lot of freedom, but also significant uncertainty. I like it. You can read about why I made this decision here.
Challenging my Business to Evolve
With a full year of business operations in the books, I’m quite please with what Acuity has been able to achieve in its infancy. Now, the real work begins. With the time abroad that looms, I’m forced to shift both my mindset from being a founder and freelancer that works in the business to the owner and creative director who works on the business. Without adapting, I’ll struggle to manage things whilst away from the familiarities of home. In this way, extended travel is an excellent forcing mechanism for business growth!
Additionally, I want to challenge myself to keep taking the uncommon approach. The last thing I want is for Acuity to be duplicative of every other business in the industry. I want to keep doubling down on our differences through investing in the mentoring program, continually reviewing, refining, and testing boundaries, plus positioning ourselves as the antithesis to AI-driven learning.
Disconnecting
While the world appears to be speeding up and everything seemingly fixates on doing more, I want to make an effort to slow down and do less. Key to this is disconnecting. Favouring the analogue. Walking more. Prioritising nature. Waking up early. Finding calm and opportunity in space, and in silence.
Tangibly, I continue to foster this attitude through blocking social media, my meditation practice, plus consistently reading, writing, and exercising every single day.
